Yes, I have written a book, If the Cleat Fits…. It tells the real-life story of my crazy adventures while participating in an extreme, non-stop, self-navigational mountain bike race from Pietermaritzburg to Rhodes in the Eastern Cape.
The Race to Rhodes is roughly 500 km through remote and spectacular parts of South Africa. It is less about a perfect line on a map and more about choices, resilience, humour and carrying on when the obvious option is no longer obvious.
Why the story matters
The book is about the race, but also about the ordinary doubts behind big adventures: getting lost, getting tired, making poor decisions, laughing at them later, and learning how much further you can go when you stop waiting to feel completely ready.
